Three Texas firefighters were taken to the hospital after they were injured in a flashover during a two-alarm fire Tuesday.
Corpus Christi crews responded to a fire at a two-story home just before 7:30 p.m., KRIS-TV reports. Nearly 35 firefighters and 10 apparatus were at the scene of the blaze.
A flashover happened, forcing firefighters out of the house. A mayday was then issued after three firefighters became lost in the smoke.
"Those firefighters were removed from the structure either on their own or with help," Battalion Chief Scott Marsh told KIII-TV. "They are all doing well. They were transported to a local hospital for further evaluation, but they are all doing well at this time."
Crews eventually were able to get the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
